FUN! Rule number one for almost everything that happens at the Club is that it must be fun. A SAFE PLACE The Club is a safe place where young people can come to enjoy themselves and their friends. OPPORTUNITIES Club members have the opportunity to learn, grow, give back to the community, discover their needs, set goals, and meet new friends. OUR CLUB
THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF THE SUNCOAST...
Are for boys and girls. Our Clubs have a youth-only membership and satisfy the age-old desire of boys and girls to have a "Club" of their own. Have full-time professional leadership. Our staff is supplemented by part-time workers and volunteers. Build character. Our Club programs help to instill good character traits in boys and girls, even those youth in danger of acquiring unacceptable habits and attitudes. Assure that all young people can afford to belong. Membership dues are kept low, so that all can afford to belong. No one will be deterred from joining.	Are building-centered. Activities are conducted in the warm, friendly atmosphere of facilities especially designed for such programs. Are for boys and girls of all races, religions, and ethnic cultures. Are non-sectarian and have an open-door policy. Our Clubs are open to all members during regular house of operation. Have varied and diversified programs that work. The Clubs recognize and respond to the collective and individual needs of young people, utilizing nationally-recognized educational and recreational programs that have proven effective over many years. Are guidance-oriented. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast emphasize positive values in the relationships members have with each other and their adult leaders. We help boys and girls make appropriate and satisfying choices in their physical, educational, personal, and social lives.
OUR CORE PROGRAMS
The Club provides diversified activities that meet the interests of all young people. Core programs encourage activities with adults, peers, and family members that enable kids to enhance self-esteem and fulfill their potential. Based on the physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs and interests of boys and girls, and recognizing developmental principles, the Club offers diversified program activities in five areas:
CHARACTER AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT We empower young people to support and influence their community, sustain meaningful relationship, develop a positive self-image, participate in the democratic process and respect their own and others’ cultural identities. EDUCATION AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT We enable young people to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to optimize employability. HEALTH AND LIFE SKILLS We develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being, set personal goals, and develop the skills to live successfully as self-sufficient, contributing adults. THE ARTS We enable young people to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of visual, tactile, and/or performing arts. SPORTS, FITNESS, AND RECREATION We develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation for the environment, and social and interpersonal skills.
BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS FILL A CRITICAL NEED
Boys & Girls Clubs build character through everyday leadership and guidance in behavior and attitude. Young people of all nationalities, races and creeds join together in wholesome recreation and companionship. Trained professional staff provide positive adult mentors and role models. Nationally recognized programs help young people succeed in school, stay healthy, learn important life skills, pursue interests in the arts and sports, and explore vocational choices. Most importantly, Boys & Girls Clubs show youngsters that someone cares and wants them to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
WHO CAN JOIN?
	Anyone between the ages of 6 and 18 who is in first through 12th grade can join one of the Suncoast Clubs for only $25 per year. Contact us for more information regarding Club location, membership and/or program fees.
WHEN CAN I GO?
	The Clubs are open during hours when kids most need a place to go – after school and all day in summer. For specific Club locations and contacts, just call 727-546-1032 extension 10 anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
HOW DO I JOIN?
